Goodnews As Construction Works Resume At Mombasa Stadium (Photos)

Mombasa county under the leadership of Governor Ali Hassan Joho is one of the counties which have played a major role in the growth of sports by constructing sporting facilities.Since the launch of devolved government in 2013, the county has built classic stadiums such as Bomu and Uwanja wa Mbuzi stadiums.

In 2020, the county government launched a mega stadium project which could see Mombasa county host major football matches. The construction of Mombasa county stadium kicked off in mid 2020 but stalled a few months after its ground breaking. This was unwelcomed by most of the sports enthusiasts from the county and the whole country as well.

The stadium which was set to cost close to Ksh 1.5 billion would see Mombasa City house a 15,000 capacity sitter stadium with an Olympic size swimming pool and an indoor arena among other amenities.

The hopes of the stadium are now revived as construction works at the site have resumed and are moving at a good phase.Being the second largest city in Kenya, Mombasa city lacks a FIFA standard stadium but now with works on course hopes for it's delivery are high.

Do you think the County Government of Mombasa will deliver this stadium in 14 months? Feel free to share your views on the comment section and remember to share and follow for more news.
