Leeds United has joined the race to sign highly-rated midfielder Manuel Locatelli who has caught the attention of Juventus and English Premier League side, Arsenal. Leeds United is preparing to take next season by storm after showcasing brilliant performance last season.
The situation in Locatelli’s transfer is however unfazed as Juventus holds the upper hand among the suitor clubs. Leeds has offered a reported €30 Million for the Italian but Sassuolo has prioritized Juventus’ bid because Locatelli wants to join Juventus. There is a high possibility that he might turn down the offers from Arsenal and Leeds United if the negotiations with Juventus crash.
Alexander Lacazette might be involved in a potential swap deal involving Lautaro Martinez who has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates. Sources have indicated that Arsenal is willing to offer the Frenchman to Inter Milan if the Italian club agrees to sell Lautaro.
Lacazette’s future at the Emirates is still uncertain but with the recent turn of events, Arsenal might decide against offering him a new contract and instead offload him to Inter Milan where he will have a chance of rekindling his prime form. However, the deal seems very unlikely with Martinez having already set his eyes on joining a Spanish team.
Arsenal is now adopting a new strategy of protecting the values of some of their players by offering them new contracts. Yesterday, Arsenal fans were taken aback after it was revealed that Edu Gasper was lining up a new deal for Granit Xhaka. Today, Hector Bellerin becomes the second player to be offered a new deal after Inter Milan failed to step up in signing the Spaniard who is keen on leaving the Emirates.
