Luton had secured a top-half finish the last season, and have once again started their season on a good note. Meanwhile, Birmingham had to settle for a bottom-tier position, and have not been good this new campaign either. Likely, expect the former to dominate this weekend.
They had finished 12th in the table in 2020-21, and were unbeaten in 28 of their total 46 games. They had performed predominantly well in home games, and this Saturday, they once again hope to do so.
As of now, they are placed seventh in the table, and they have a 100% winning record barring a single loss. This defeat had come against toppers West Brom.
Anyhow, only the top-three teams have scored more goals than them so far, and since the sixth-placed Blackburn are pitted against West Brom, it’s an opportunity for Luton to climb upwards the table.
In the meantime, Birmingham had finished 18th in the table the last season, and were winless in 33 of their 46 matches in the tournament. They had also managed to score just 37 goals in the campaign, but conceded 61 in return though.
Going on, they also have made a mess of their new season as well. Disregarding their victory against possibly the worst team in the league, Sheffield United, they have been winless so far.
By the looks of things, expect a win for Luton this Saturday at their home.
Luton recorded a 0-1 win the last match-day, against Barnsley. In the meantime, Birmingham lost 0-2 at home against Bournemouth.
Going on, Luton were unbeaten in 14 of their past 17 overall fixtures, and they had scored two or more goals in seven of their former ten games. Note that they have also lost just five times at home since October of 2020.
On the other hand, their counterparts were winless in eight of their past eleven overall fixtures, and they had remained so in 10 of their last 15 road trips.
Taking into account these stats, as well as performances from previous campaigns, expect a win for Luton this weekend.
