Edinson Cavani has struggled for action at Manchester United since the return of Cristiano Ronaldo. Some publications have even suggested he’s unhappy with life at Old Trafford, amid links to Real Madrid and Barcelona. But that didn’t stop the Uruguay international from roaring on after the Portugal international’s dramatic late winner against Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Marcus Rashford got the comeback rolling, converting after a fine pass from Bruno Fernandes to score his second goal of the season before Harry Maguire pulled United back on level terms. Cristiano Ronaldo netted the winner in the 81st minute to hand Manchester United their second Champions League win of the season.
Cavani who has been struggling for game time since Cristiano Ronaldo made his comeback was on the pitch and fans noticed his reaction to the winner goal. Last game Cavani caught Cristiano Ronaldo Jersey mud air and went ahead to hand it back to Cristiano Ronaldo after the celebration.
Yesterday, the forward joined in the celebrations and roared to the Old Trafford crowd, helping to lift the volume inside the stadium in the process. Cavani’s fantastic reaction shows he’s got a warrior’s mentality, with the veteran unfazed at having to settle for a place on the bench.
