When it comes to the most decorated Kenyan footballers, it is with no doubt that retired Kenyan footballer McDonald Mariga is one of them.He became the first and only Kenyan to win the UEFA Champions League when he achieved it with Inter Milan in 2010.
After his retirement from active football in 2018, Mariga joined politics in 2019 and went on to vie for the Kibra Parliamentary Seat on a Jubilee ticket in the by elections following the death of the then Member of Parliament Ken Okoth in a race which he later lost to Imram Okoth.
Current updates indicate that Mariga who is currently campaigning for the same seat on a UDA ticket was attacked during one of his campaign rallies in Kibra.Below is the link to the video of Mariga while at the hospital:
