Chelsea: Massive Transfer News, Next Opponent Confirmed, Werner Admits He is Struggling

Timo Werner

Timo Werner has disclosed to the media that the past few weeks have not been easy for him and he has really struggled both psychologically and emotionally from the backlash he has been receiving from the public. He said that he has been visiting the club’s psychologist who has been of great help in helping him regain his morale.

Werner added that he has been practicing harder in training and is hopeful that his efforts will bear fruits for him and the club in the future. He said that his loyalty and commitment to the club are unfazed and he is looking forward to winning the fans’ hearts once again. He was asked to describe his relationship with Romelu Lukaku but refused, saying that the media will only make up stories and lies if he did.

Matthijs De Ligt

According to reliable sources, Chelsea are apparently considering triggering the €103 Million release clause of Mathjis De Ligt after the Dutch defender informed Juventus’ that he wants to leave the club as soon as possible. It is not known why the player has made such a drastic decision, but rumors about his desire to leave have been confirmed by renowned football news outlet L’Equipe.

Chelsea failed to replace Kurt Zouma after transfer negotiations with Sevilla for Jules Kounde hit the rocks during the late hours of the deadline day. Jules Kounde also said that he now wants to fully invest his energy in making Sevilla a better team this season and that he will not be paying any attention to transfer rumors linking him to other European clubs. As for De Ligt, he is willing to accept anything at the moment so that he can leave Juventus, and the Italian giants seem to have obliged his request to leave in January.

Next Round

Chelsea have been drawn against Ralph Hassenhutl’s Southampton FC in the Round of 16 of the Carabao Cup. Southampton will be seeking to surprise Chelsea in the upcoming fixture, particularly now that Hassenhutl has a handful of talents to choose from for the highly anticipated fixture. Chelsea on the other hand will take on Southampton full-on as Tuchel seeks to strongly establish his team in the next round of the competition.
