Alex Lacazette's Late Equalizer Saves Arsenal Against Crystal Palace

Alex Lacazette's late, late goal was enough to snatch a draw for Arsenal against Crystal Palace in a Premier League fixture played at the Emirates Stadium on Monday.

The Gunners came into this fixture on the back of a healthy return of 10 points from their last four matches. They looked set for another 3 points when captain Pierre Aubameyang slotted in the opener after just 12 minutes. The captain showed great awareness to poke home a rebound from the Palace goalkeeper after Nicholas Pepe tested him from inside the box.

This was quickly dismissed as a false dawn as Palace, led by former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira took control of proceedings shortly after the Arsenal goal.

The Eagles were quick to second balls and dominated the possession leaving Mikel Arteta's side chasing shadows. Aaron Ramsdale in the Arsenal goal had to produce a fantastic save on the stroke of half time to deny the visitors.

Bukayo Saka was forced off at half time with a calf injury and Arsenal crumbled without their brightest spark.

Early in the second half, Thomas Partey was caught in possession as Arsenal tried to play the ball out from the back and Palace worked the ball to Cristian Benteke who made no mistake with the finish.

With Arsenal searching for the winner, Sambi Lokonga was caught in possession and again Palace struck, this time from new man Edouard.

The game seemed to be destined for a Palace win until Lacazette found the equalizer by reacting fastest from a loose ball that resulted form a corner with virtually the last kick of the game.

The point keeps Arsenal in 12th place with 11 points while Palace are 13th with 8 points.
