Chelsea Dealt A Huge Blow In Takeover Process As Abramovic Makes Fresh Demands

Roman Abramovic throws spanner on Chelsea takeover process as the former club owner demands £1.6 billion from the club sale to pay off his loan. In latest reports revealed by UK's Daily Mail Sports, the Russian billionaire has allegedly halted the process of club sale to Todd Boehly as Abramovic seeks to have a share in the sale.

The Russian oligarch has claimed that a loan amounting to £1.6 billion needs to be paid off. In an initial agreement, the UK government took charge of all the money that was to be paid upon the sale of the club. Todd Boehly who is the potential buyer had already reached an agreement of £2.6 billion with the process of club takeover expected to be completed in the next one week.

However, the outrageous, provocative demand by Roman Abramovic could have consequences on Chelsea FC, the top tier premier League club could be thrown out of the league in case there is a delay in the takeover process. This comes after the club was handed an extension to complete the takeover. The club now risks expulsion from the Premier League following Roman Abramovic interruption in the sale of Chelsea.
