Tottenham Hotspurs deny Liverpool maximum points

The final whistle blew to end a brilliant game, with the final scoreline 1-1. It was a thrilling first-half, with both sides hitting the bar. Firstly, the hosts hit the woodwork as Van Dijk's header from an Alexander-Arnold corner crashed off the bar. Then, Hojbjerg could only watch his shot from distance deflect off the outside of the left post and wide.

Diaz and Mane also went close for Liverpool, but the game went to the break goalless. The visitors were the team to break the deadlock, after Kane laid the ball to his left to Sessegnon. The former Fulham man kept his calm to lay the ball back to Son, who fired home. The hosts desperately tried to find a leveller, but Tottenham defended resolutely with some important blocks. However their resistance was finally broken on 74 minutes, when a Diaz shot from distance deflected off Bentancur, wrong footing Lloris and nestling into the bottom corner. Both teams had chances to win the game, but neither could take them and the two teams split the points.Below are the match facts in case you needed to see it.
