Sad news for Jacob Ghost Mulee ahead of World Cup qualifiers

reasons why Kenyan football will be affected by 20%

The government has announced that 20% will soon be deducted from the amount of money won by a gambler in every betting site in the country. Such steps have been aimed at increasing revenue collection in the country to help reduce the economic crisis caused by the covid 19 pandemic. The act has not been taken lightly by football club in the country.

According to the reports circulating in the media, two major clubs have reportedly discouraged the enactment ,FC Leopards and Gormahia have made their stand known. The clubs have been relying on the sponsorship deals from betting companies and if the government goes ahead with its plans, most of them will be affected financially. Kenyan clubs have been struggling to pay players and the situation will only worsen if the said action takes place.

The national team has also been receiving support from the companies and therefore it will be a big blow for the Ghost Mulee coached side.

The players have been enjoying their allowances on time courtesy of the companies. If such enactments are put into action, we expect difficulties as the team looks forward to the World Cup qualifiers. The TV rights, player allowance and other benefits will be disbanded by the sites as a result of the 20% which will discourage many gamblers.
