Arsenal have had injury setbacks this season from their key defenders for the likes of Kieran Tierney who is a long term absentee, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel.
News reaching our desk have confirmed that the Emirates side have reached an agreement to sign a prolific defender ahead of the summer transfer window.
Reportedly, Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey will make his Italian top flight exit for the Premier League having agreed a deal for a fee between £17 and £21m. This is after Bologna CEO paid a visit to London to make final touches on the workable move for the defender.
An offensive football back used primarily for line plunges and blocking, Hickey is set to bolster the Gunners defense. The Scotland international has exhibited his uncanny abilities in the Serie A and certain to translate his fruitful ways to Arsenal. He has managed 34 appearances with Bologna this term, scored 5 goals and provided one assist meaning that he is a goal-scoring defender.
Medicals are expected to be completed soon and paper work done to seal the major transfer.
