Portuguese professional footballer Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro is the captain of the Portugal national team. He is one of the all-time great players in the globe.

Ronaldo has won four European Golden Shoes and five Ballon d'Or Awards. In his career, he has won 32 trophies, including the UEFA European Championship, five UEFA Champions Leagues and seven league championships.

His Mother Had Almost an Abortion

Ronaldo was born on February 5th, 1985. His parents were José Dinis Aveiro and Maria Dolores dos Santos Viveiros da Aveiro.

His mother worked long hours as a chef and a cleaner to support her children and her family while his father worked as a municipal gardener and a part-time kit man for a local football team. The footballer was only 20 years old when his father tragically passed away in 2005 from a liver disease caused by drinking.

In a family of four children, Ronaldo was the last kid to be born.Maria Aveiro; Ronaldo's mother, writes in her book "Mother Courage" about how she contemplated aborting Ronaldo because of her husband's alcoholism and the couple's financial situation.

Ronaldo Has Six Kids

Six children; some born through surrogacy and others to separate women are fathered by Ronaldo. Cristiano Jr., his first child, was born in the United States on June 17, 2010. He is presently dating Spanish-Argentinean model Georgina Rodriguez with whom they have children.

The Player Underwent Heart Surgery When He Was 15

At the age of 15, Ronaldo was identified as having tachycardia; a disease that causes the heart to beat rapidly even while at rest.

He could have had to stop playing football because of the ailment, but thankfully it was discovered and treated early on.

He underwent surgery when the problematic portion of his heart was cauterized with a laser. He underwent the procedure and the next day he was discharged. Only a few days later, Ronaldo was back in the gym.

There is a Museum In his Honor 

A museum dedicated to Ronaldo was inaugurated in Funchal, Madeira in 2013. Over 150 of Ronaldo's trophies from over the years are on display in the Museu CR7, a museum.

The player's hometown football team; Unio da Madeira has the museum as an official sponsor. A hotel was constructed above the museum thanks to a collaboration between Ronaldo and the Pestana Group.

A bronze monument of Cristiano Ronaldo, created by the Madeiran sculptor Ricardo Velosa, is located in front of the museum.

A waxwork replica of the player in life-size is on display at Museo de Cera, another museum. Every 45 days, Ronaldo sends a hairdresser to brush the artwork's genuine hair, which was imported from India.

He is social media influencer

On Instagram, Ronaldo has the most followers. On the platform, he has more than 470 million followers. He has more than 700 million. In comparison to the money he obtains from playing football, his income as an Instagram influencer is far more.

Ronaldo's Legs Were Covered By A 100 Million Euro Insurance Policy

Real Madrid declared in 2009 that it has covered Cristiano Ronaldo's legs with a 100 million euro insurance policy. Ronaldo doesn't have any tattoos since he routinely donates blood and doesn't want to have to wait many months after getting inked in order to do so. He has also signed up to donate bone marrow.
