The new United boss is eager to be reunited with his former players he worked with at Ajax, but efforts to lure both ace from the Eredivisie Champions has become protracted due to high price tag placed by the club for both players .
According to 90Min, Manchester United have made an improved bid of £42m , Ajax and Argentina defender, Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez, 24, has been in the frontline persuading Ajax to accept a bid from United for his services but the club seem to demand higher fee since offer of around £42.5m falls short of the Dutch club’s asking price.
Man Utd is confident to struck the deal as they believe that their offer satisfies Ajax's required valuation for Lisandro Martinez, and It's even thought that there are plans in place for a medical.
Arsenal earlier on made official approaches to acquire the Argentine international , but it now appears that Man Utd is leading the race to sign the 24-year-old.
Again Manchester United are still monitoring the the service of 22-year-old Brazilian forward ,Antony and Ten Hag is reportedly pushing the United board to acquire his services during this summer transfer window.
The Brazilian is valued at £70m by Ajax and United’s opening offer of around £51m was rejected by the Eredivisie champions
Manchester United have been told by Amsterdam club that they submit a combined fee of around £105million to secure the deal for both Lisandro Martinez and Antony, after Ajax rejected two offers placed by the Red Devils for the players.
Though United remain confident that an agreement can be closed, Ajax are viewing Martinez’s potential departure alongside that of his team-mate Antony.
Ten Hag had planned to have the players in his squad for the start of the club’s tour of the far-east and Australia but Tyrell Malacia remains the club’s only arrival so far.
