Barcelona president Joan Laporta has given the green light for Iliax Modiba to leave the club should a suitable offer arrive. Modiba has been linked to Chelsea and this might be a calling for Chelsea to make the move. Speaking to Spanish media he said that they have offered Modiba the best contract offer that they could based on their current financial situation.
Modiba’s contract at Barcelona is set to expire next year hence the reason why Barcelona cannot hold him longer should he reject their contract proposal. The player has been demanding a contract that the president has termed to be greedy. Having graduated from the La Masia academy Barcelona is doing everything possible to sign him but their current financial crisis cannot allow them to do so. He said “If he wants to go and it’s because he has other options, he can leave the club”
Laporta further added that they will try their best but if he decides to leave then they can only wish him the best “If you do not want to renew, we have other solutions. What we don’t want our players made at La Masia who don’t want to renew.” He said
