Premier League

Arsenal players ranking last night against Newcastle

After drawing with Newcastle, Arsenal increased their lead over the Magpies at the top of the Premier League to eight points.

Both teams had limited opportunities to score, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be disappointed that his team was unable to overcome their resolute opponents.

Although Newcastle managed to keep Arsenal at bay and show why they have the strongest defense in the Premier League, both Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli both had headers from set pieces go just wide.

Manchester City, who is now in second place and has a chance to cut the gap when they visit Chelsea on Thursday, is eight points behind Arsenal in the league standings.

(6) Aaron Ramsdale

A terrifying moment occurred when he was nearly caught trying to play out from the back at the beginning of the second half. Apart from that, he was reliable.

Ben White

He wasn't quite at his recent level, but he still put on a strong performance tonight. seemed to take pleasure in their combat with Joelinton.

Saliba

After playing little for France during the World Cup, he still doesn't appear to be totally up to speed. improved as the game progressed.

Gabriel 7

Of the two Arsenal center backs, he has recently been the superior player, and he maintained his strong play here. The threat posed by Callum Wilson was successfully handled. came so close to scoring with a header.

Zinchenko, Oleksandr 7

The passes he made to open up the Newcastle defense while he was tucked inside looked superb. After his calf difficulties, he appears to be in excellent shape.

Martin Odegaard 6

Martin had a difficulty night against Newcastle last night.

deprived of the typical environment he enjoys and thrives in. Newcastle obviously made a point of getting rid of him immediately, and it succeeded.

Bukayo Saka 7: A star participant

was early on causing Dan Burn a lot of issues and came close to scoring, but Nick Pope stopped him. Most of the time, Arsenal's best player was

(7) Eddie Nketiah

had the challenging job of leading the charge against a very strong Newcastle defense. Some of his link-up play was fantastic, but Pope made a superb save to keep the game scoreless.

Gabriel Martinelli 6

I occasionally had Kieran Trippier to myself, but the England right-back handled him superbly. He flicked a header from a corner barely wide, so close to scoring.

Substitutions

Takehiro Tomiyasu, White, 75' N/A

Turner, Tierney, Holding, Vieira, Lokonga, Elneny, Marquinhos, and Butler-Oyedeji were not substituted.
