The football weekend takes shape this evening and the boring cup competitions takes a hiatus for the moment.
Here are some of my probable predictions for today.
Promotion and relegation survival clash for both teams this evening.
The home team has improved and are second in Serie B behind the in form Frosinone.
With a single win in their last five home matches, Reggina will be all blazing with maximum points the only reason for occasioning the match.
SPAL has lost just two of their away matches on nine attempts an are a great threat to this evening's opponent.
With both teams hungry for improving their records, the home advantage will play in favor of Reggina.
Prediction: Reggina wins
Match 2: Everton vs Southampton
The below the table clash will be sinking the loosing team to relegation. The least both teams can get is a draw to have survival hopes. Everton will play their hearts out under the watch of their home fans and will try and avoid loosing after a terrible run of results. Despite having injury worries, they have to turn up and thwart the Southampton team that is also suffering from lack of form.
Southampton will have a morale boost after eliminating Manchester City from the EFL cup competition and will be hoping to execute the few chances they create this evening.
This will be an encounter that will help both teams pick a point at best.
Prediction: Everton/Draw
Match 3: Lens vs Auxerre
Lens has won all nine home Ligue 1 matches and will want to extend to ten. After drawing their last fixture, an urgency to keep PSG closer is today's sole objective.
The away team is battling relegation and has lost four of their last five matches.
There will be no major upsets this evening as a one sided match is expected.
Head to Head matches has been in favour of the home team seasons before.
Prediction: Lens wins
Match 4: Genk vs Waragem
After loosing at home in the cup competition, Genk will work hard to win against the relegation threatened Waragem.
The home team will want to extend their gap with the second placed to ten points as European exploits still awaits and tight fixtures expected in near future.
Waragem won their last game however, they have not convinced me for a consecutive win.
The away team are in an injury crisis as well making it difficult to pick a formidable lineup as well.
Prediction: Genk wins
