Aston Villa were struggling in the premier league before signing Steven Gerrard as their new manager. He has managed to make the team strong. Steven won a tittle with Rangers a team that was struggling but he was able to rebuild it.
Aston villa began their winter market by signing Philip coutinho from Barcelona on loan with an option to buy the player at the end of the season. Coutinho will have to fill the gap left by Jack Greelish. Aston villa have struggled to create chances since the departure but hopeful that will be corrected with Coutinho.
Steven Gerrard is also trying to rebuild the defense and get the players that will fit his style of play. He has gone for Lucas Digne, a left back from Everton. Lucas fell out of favour with Rafa Benitez and was sidelined which forced him to look for other club.
As per the report from Fabrizio, Everton and Aston Villa have agreed on a transfer fee of 27 million pounds. The player and Aston villa have agreed on personal terms and Lucas will be travelling to Birmingham to undergo his medical today.
