With no Champions League football and no fresh players to improve the present squad, Ronaldo has expressed a desire to quit Manchester United. His absence from pre-season was attributed to a family matter, but it could also be a reflection of his dissatisfaction with the current scenario at Old Trafford.
Chelsea and Bayern Munich have both expressed an interest in him. Bayern Munich will be looking for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona. With the Portuguese wonder reportedly seeking Champions League action, the Bavarian have at one time been linked to Ronaldo
Despite the previous links, Bayern Munich have distanced themselves from United's No.7, with Bayern's director declaring that Ronaldo isn't fit to their profile. "As much as I like Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the best players, a move would not fit into our ideology," says Bayern director Oliver Kahn. This indicates that Bayern Munich will not sign the Portuguese sensation, which provides a significant boost to Chelsea, who are looking for new attackers to bolster their firepower.
