Chelsea’s second-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga recently claimed that his relationship with colleague Edouard Mendy has been a real stepping stone not only for the goalkeepers themselves but also for the whole team. He said Mendy has really helped him a lot in training by teaching him a few tricks in the goalkeeper department which he tries to apply during matches.
More than that he said that he has also learned a lot from experienced goalkeeper Marcus Bertinelli. He thanked Thomas Tuchel for being very organized about the roles he wants each goalkeeper to play and therefore unnecessary confusion are avoided during the match selections.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand recently claimed that Chelsea center-back Antonio Rudiger is the best center-back in the League particularly after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. Ferdinand said that Rudiger’s evolution has been tremendous and many strikers are afraid of taking the German behemoth on duels because Rudiger is likely to win all of them.
“You can see what Tuchel has done with Rudiger. He is no longer the defender who used to make silly mistakes leading to goals because he knows that Tuchel is a no-nonsense coach. He has grown technically and even his confidence has shot up incredibly. No striker wants to take him on,” Ferdinand said.
According to reliable sources, the FA has appointed experienced referee Michael Oliver to officiate the English Premier League showdown between Manchester City and Chelsea over the weekend. Michael Oliver has already officiated two previous similar fixtures and Manchester City have emerged victorious in those two. Will the tables turn this time?
