ESPANYOL VS REAL MADRID.
Real Madrid were on the wrong end of a seismic UEFA Champions League shock in midweek but we’re backing Los Blancos to respond in the right way when they head to RCDE Stadium to face Espanyol this Sunday.
In what will go down as one of the biggest upsets in the competition’s history, Los Blancos were turned over 2-1 by Moldovan minnows Sheriff Tiraspol at the Bernabeu, on a night where nothing seemed to go right for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
The result naturally marks an embarrassing low for the club who have such a rich history on the continent, though it would be folly to overreact to the outcome from a punting perspective going forwards.
While Real were poor, they did dominate Tuesday’s tie and basically came up short due to a glut of missed chances. Their goalscoring form on the whole this season has been excellent with 21 netted in seven La Liga starts, a tally which has helped to yield five wins and two draws.
Prediction:Real Madrid to win.
MAINZ VS UNION BERLIN.
The hosts have conceded an average of 1.50 goals while the visitors have conceded an average of 1.80 goals.
Prediction:Mainz to win.
