Newcastle vs Leicester
Newcastle United will be looking to put the disappointment of their shock loss to lower division side Sheffield Wednesday in the third round of the FA Cup at the weekend when they welcome fellow Premier League team Leicester to St James Park in the quarterfinal of the EFL Cup (Carabao) on Tuesday. The Magpies have been terrific in the League, currently third behind Arsenal and Man City, and bagging this cup would certainly be a realistic goal to crown their season.
Leicester have blown hot and cold this season. While they looked to be getting their act together in the lead-up to the World Cup break, they have disintegrated in the return to league action with three straight losses that has them on the brink of the relegation battle as they are just 3 points clear of the drop zone. They have however been quite solid in this cup though and will hope to continue the same here.
Newcastle have been outstanding in their backyard. They are unbeaten in 17 competitive matches here spanning back to last season. We expect them to bounce back here with a solid win to punch their ticket in the semifinals.
Predictions: Newcastle Win & Both teams to score.
