Barcelona's midfielder Pablo Martin Gavira commonly known as Gavi has broken a record of the youngest player to ever play for Spain.The record was initially held by Angel Zubieta who played for Spain at the age of 17 years 284 days in 1936.
Gavi who was born in 2004 is 17 years and 62 days old.He plays as midfielder and wears jersey number 30 for Barcelona.Tonight he will wear jersey number 9 for Spain as they take on Italy in the UEFA Nations League semi final match.
He also made his champions league debut for Barcelona against Benfica.Gavi is a playmaker with his strengths being in passing, vision,ball control, creativity, football IQ, teamwork and positional sense.Gavi uses his right foot.
Other younger players that have managed to play for Spain include Zubieta and Ansu Fati at the age of 17 years and 308 days old.
This shows that Spain coach Luis Henrique believes in young players and he is ready to give them chances to prove themselves.
