Manchester United welcomed 10,000 fans back into Old Trafford for the first time in 14 months as they hosted Fulham in a Premier League clash a week away from the Europa League final.
The red devils have been performing so well away from home but when at home is where the poor results have come with all six defeats in the league this season coming while playing at home.
Therefore, the return of fans ought to help them get on with the game and that's exactly what happened.
In the 15th minute, the crowd went wild after Edinson Cavani scored a beauty at the Stretford End after spotting Areola off his line. The 35-year-old shot a long range goal just few metres away from the centre of the pitch sending Old Trafford into pandemonium.
Cavani who was almost set to leave the club this summer but stayed after persuasion from Ole has now become a key player for the red devils who have been struggling to find a number 9.
His performance today was just another master class that left fans praising him.
Below are reactions from the fans on social media;
Tactical Times: I believed Edinson Cavani would be a good signing, mainly for what he would bring to the training ground, but I never saw him becoming one of United's best, most vital players by the end of the season. Class really is permanent.
Dury Edinson: Cavani was our best player today that guy is a great number 9.
