The Red Devils have won this trophy twelve times and will be determined to win it this season. In the current season, Manchester United has been drawn against Premier League rivals, Aston Villa in the third round. Manchester United has everything that the manager needs to help the club reach the finals in this domestic competition.

Many football fans thought that Manchester United won't make it to the Round of 16 after being paired against strong teams in the group stage. Manchester United was placed in Group H together with UEFA Europa League winners, Villarreal, Atalanta, and Young Boys. In addition to that, they lost the opening match to Young Boys. However, they turned the tables and are now the Group leaders. The club might end up winning this year's trophy because it has a good squad depth and a well experienced manager.
