Africa's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has shared the daily diet that keeps him fit.Omanyala avoids meals with high fats and takes snacks twice a day.The athlete also revealed he didn't get special treatment at the police college in Kiganjo.
"We wake at 2 am, do a long run for two hours up to 4 am and then we come back. Take your breakfast and go to Parade at 4:30. I went there in October," he said.
Unsurprisingly he did not look the best-prepared athlete in the field but scraped through as the third finisher of the final heat in 10.10.He finished third behind Abdul Hakim Sani Brown who won the race in a season’s best time of 9.98secs with Australia’s Edward Osei-Nketia finishing second with a 10.08secs time on the clock.
Omanyala the African record holder for 100 meters after the Kip Keino classic is yet to achieve the ultimate African champion status.To achieve the coveted African champion title he has to win the 100m, 200m, and 4x1 races in Mauritius which is his current goal.
