Panthers coach Patrice Neveu told AFP on Thursday that forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has resigned from international soccer, a declaration verified by the Gabonese Football Federation.

"He declared his retirement from international football in an official letter to the Gabonese Football Federation (Fégafoot)," Neveu told AFP by phone.
"I am announcing the end of my international career after 13 years of proudly representing my country." In a letter to the Fégafoot, Aubameyang complimented the "immensity of career and regularity at the highest level of the one who was able to market, owing to his professionalism, Gabon's image in the world."
Barca signed the thirty two years old striker from Arsenal in early February after the English club agreed to terminate his contract "by mutual consent" in order to save his large salary, which was valued at £15 million (€18 million) at the time.
Since joining the Catalan club, the striker has scored 13 goals in three months.
