Arsenal is Keen on Signing ‘World-Class’ Midfielder Again, They’ve Already Made Bid Before

Arsenal is at the sixth place of the premier league table though it a poor start of the 2021/2022 campaign. Mikel Arteta is working on major development at the Emirates Stadium to strengthen his squad.

However according to El Nacional reports, Arsenal is keen on signing 'world class' midfielder and Real Madrid playmaker, Marco Asensio. The Gunners had made a bid before to land him. Madrid is reportedly considering selling the Spaniard in the January transfer window, with Arsenal interested in signing him. The Gunners have an excellent relationship with Real Madrid, having signed Martin Odegaard from them last summer.

Arsenal is connected and keen with the creative midfielder who was previously been regarded as 'world class' by Vincente Del Bosque (Marca). Cadena Sar stated that Arsenal made a £34 million approach for Asensio in the summer, which was turned down. However, Madrid's position appears to have softened since then, and Arsenal appears to be still interested.

Asensio is unquestionably a talented player, and the increased competition for positions may result in higher standards at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal is showing indications of kicking into gear under Arteta, and if they can add more quality in the new year, a bid for the top four isn't out of the question.
