Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has surprised football fans with his wake up call for the club after yesterday's humiliation by Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford.
The Spanish starlwat has questioned Manchester United's winger Anthony Elanga 's role as far as yesterday' loss to Atletico Madrid.During the first leg at the Wanda Metropolitano, it was the Swedish teenager who offered United a lifeline when he cancelled out a headed opener from Portuguese sensation Joao Felix. However, it was Elanga's delay in tracking back which allowed Renan Lodi to score at Old Trafford and that moment proved telling.
Handed a start as Ralf Rangnick made three changes to his starting line-up, Elanga was deployed on the right-hand side in attacking quarters. He came in for Marcus Rashford.
He proposed Rio Ferdinand saying ,"Rio [Ferdinand] is right, the back-four is all over the place, but Elanga has to sprint back and get into shape.
"It's the last 16 of the Champions League. When you lose the ball, you're out of shape, you have to sprint back and get back in."
