The Arsenal Jersey 10 has remained vacant ever since Mesut Ozil left the club for Fenerbahce. A number of players are likely to be eyeing the jersey number. Usually jersey numbers from 1-10 ands also specifically 14 are those numbers that most players would scramble for.
I have an analysis of players whom I feel should be given the jersey 10. They are as below;
1.Emile Smith Rowe
He has been phenomenal for Arsenal since his discovery back then in December 2020. This was a game pitting Arsenal against Chelsea and Smith was top class that day. He would later carry the baggage of creativity on his shoulders for the rest of the season. I feel like the club should reward him with the jersey ten just like they gave the jersey seven to Saka.
Lacazette also is reportedly a secret admirer of the jersey ten. He used to wear that jersey number when he was at Lyon. It is reported that the club is set to reward him with a new one year contract extension and being given the jersey ten would be part of the deal.
Martinelli is also one youngster that may be set to benefit from getting the number ten jersey but only if Arsenal sees him as a major first team player going forward. Since Arteta’s arrival, he has been secluded though.
4.New signings- Grealish, Buendia,Maddison,Lokonga
The above-named players are reportedly on Arsenal’s transfer shortlist. In case any of their deals materialize, then either of them might be set to get the number ten jersey.
