Harambee stars have suffered a big blow ahead of the World Cup qualifiers after one of their best goalkeepers, Patrick Matasi was involved in a car accident.
The Kenya International encountered the setback on Kapsabet-Nakuru road at Lessos after loosing control of his car following a tyre burst which made the vehicle to roll over. He was first taken to Lessos clinic but later rushed to Kapsabet hospital.
According to his relative Albert Mulanda, Matasi is currently undergoing treatment. He mentioned that the former AFC Leopards goalkeeper was complaining of chest pains. Scans are being carried out to determine the fatalities. Matasi was together with his wife and child in the car. They also suffered multiple injuries.
Patrick Matasi is a fruitful Harambee Stars' goalkeeper who led Kenya to AFCON 2019. He is renowned for saving Liverpool's star Sergio Mane penalty penalty during the competition. We wish him quick recovery.
