No Desire to change the Structure: How will Chelsea lineup with Conor Gallagher and the new Signings

The 2021/22 business is now completed and chelsea can proceed to the transfer window for new signings, however the takeover process a limiting factor for now. But the process won't take long, we expect to be settled before the end of this month.

In the upcoming transfer window, chelsea will need to find the replacement of the outgoing Rudiger and Christiansen. Josko Gvardiol and Jules Kounde have been tipped to replace them. There have been concern about the change in structure following the departure of veteran Rudiger, but Thomus Tuchel has made it clear that thier style is unlikely to change.

Tuchel: “It is no problem to find a new solution, but we have delivered in this structure at a very high level with our performances. I think the structure suits our players very well with the players. We have the experienced Thiago Silva, our midfielders, Reece James and Ben Chilwel. Our wing backs have more freedom to attack on both sides with that style. There are some reason to play with such structure, but we might change if needed”.

With that in mind, how would Chelsea lineup with the new signings and the new teens arriving from the loan?

3-4-2-1 and a variation of 3-4-1-2 formation have been the dominant formation for Chelsea this season and with the hint from Tuchel the defensive structure will remain unchanged. Below is how the team sheet will look like in the new season with the new arrivals;

GK: Eduard Mendy

LCB: Josko Gvardiol

CB: Thiago Silva

RCB: Jules Kounde

LWB: Ben Chilwel

RWB: Reece James

CM: Ngolo Kante

CM: Conor Gallagher

AWL: Christian Pulisic

AWR: Mason Mount

ST: Kai Havertz

With the 3-4-1-2, the forward line and the midfield is likely to be impacted. Mason Mount will drop to occupy the No.10 role, Timo Werner will be slotted to provide support to Kai Havertz in the front line.
