Is it a Season of Sleeping Giants to Win Titles Across Europe?

These season of 2020-2021 is strange and unique because games being played in closed doors with no fans or a few in some cases, but what is even more surprising is the fact that some teams whose glory had diminished are now being crowned title winners in parts of Europe dethroning frequent Champions.

In Italy, already Inter Milan have dethroned the nine consecutive winners Juventus. Inter’s Scudetto had taken 11 years of wait.

In Portugal, Sporting Lisbon won the Primeira Liga title this season from their last win in 2002 ending Porto’s and Benfica’s 19 years of hold on the Primeira title.

In Scotland, Rangers have been crowned Scottish champions ending Celtic dominance. Ranger’s win took 10 years of wait to reclaim the title going unbeaten the whole season, thanks to their coach Steven Gerrard.

In France, Lille are at a brink of snatching the ligue 1 title from rivals PSG. If they win against Angers on Sunday, then it will end PSG’s crip on title, ending Lille wait of 10 years.
