After announcing that he would not be participating in the eagerly anticipated parallel Jamhuri day celebrations, Azimio Coalition party leader Raila Odinga confused his fans.
Just the day prior, he had promised to hold his Jamhuri Day celebration at Jacaranda Grounds while Ruto holds his for his supporters. According to Raila, Azimio's celebrations will be known as Patriots' Day celebrations.
The same was said by Karua, who urged Kenyans to attend the festivities.
"We will host a special celebration of our independence and republic on December 12 at Jacaranda Gardens. This is the Republic of Kenya, not a Republic of a Person or a Government "said she.
The Azimio leadership abruptly revised the plans, however, leaving the patriots stranded.
The festivities have been postponed, according to a statement made by Opiyo Wandayi. The nationwide national conversations will nonetheless go on as scheduled.
