Chelsea fans can now smile after latest club news about the switch of ownership ahead of the summer. According to UK's Sun Football, Chelsea is set to announce the new owner of the club before the end of the season. The current English Premier League campaign is set to end in early may with most of the clubs having at most ten games to play before the season ends.
Chelsea have had ownership wrangles since the Russia-Ukraine war began, a situation that forced the club to lose its ownership from Abramovic. The Russian billionaire was forced to step down as the club owner after the United Kingdom government in conjunction with the European Union sanctioned him. Roman Abramovic was accused of his close relation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Abramovic was also accused of providing steel for the war that is currently ongoing between Russia and Ukraine. The situation has since made Abramovic lose his ownership with the club currently on sale. Despite the current situation, Chelsea will be soon announcing the new club owner as soon as the takeover is complete.
