Major Blow To Arsenal Fans As Top Winger Quits The Club Ahead Of Man City Clash

Arsenal forward Willian Borges is set to leave Arsenal in the coming hours as he joins his homeland club Corinthians FC as a free agent. Willian joined Arsenal from Chelsea in the summer of 2020 with an anticipation of new experience at the Emirates stadium.

The Brazilian has however had a rather disappointing season with the Gunners as he started most of the games from the bench. Willian has only played a single season for Arsenal before shifting his focus on moving away from the club.

Willian who has managed to make 25 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions has managed to score only a single goal while playing for Arsenal. He has been thirsting to leave Arsenal in search for a better place for him.

The 33 year old winger left Chelsea under Frank Lampard who was the coach by then due to contract extension dilemma before reaching a conclusive deal with Arsenal for a three year contract while playing for the Gunners as a first team player. He has however played lesser games for the Gunners with lesser fortunes for goals.

Meanwhile Corinthians FC have offered him a two year deal that could go upto the summer of 2024. Willian's earlier priority was to play for European clubs but failed to find suitors in the current summer transfer window. He will therefore jet back to his home country to complete the move on a free transfer.
