Good evening and welcome to my daily sports updates. Tap on the follow link on the top right corner if you haven't done so to receive more news updates. Welcome.
Kenyan 1500 metres champion Faith Kipyegon has been named among the world female athlete of the year awards. The Kenyan record holder had an outstanding performance this year winning every race that she participated in. Kipyegon won the Tokyo Olympic 1500 metres race in Japan, she went ahead to win the diamond league medal in Brussels before easily winning the Kipkeino classics held in the country.
The 27 year old mother of one will be hoping for more votes from kenyans as he looks to win the world award. Her closes competitor last season Sifan Hassan won the European female athlete of the year. If Faith Kipyegon defeated Sifan Hassan, then she could be the female athlete of the year worldwide. However, the results are based on votes. We wish her all the best ahead of the imminent voting process.
