The Only Record Held By Chelsea That Other European Clubs Might Find Difficult To Break

Gus Mears, an English businessman who had previously purchased the Stamford Bridge athletics stadium with the intention of converting it into a football ground, founded Chelsea in 1905. His initial plan was to rent it to an existing club, but after a deal with Fulham FC fell through, he got the idea to start his own.

The club competes in the Premier League, England's top division of football. Chelsea is one of Europe's most successful clubs, having won more than thirty competitive titles, including six league titles and eight European trophies. Stamford Bridge is their home ground.

Chelsea is the only club to have twice won all three major UEFA club competitions: the 1997–98 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, the 2018–19 UEFA Europa League, and the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League. Other European teams may struggle to break this record.
