After a slow start to the transfer window which got their supporters disgruntled, the Red Devils have moved swiftly and secured the services of Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia.
The Manchester club reportedly gazumped French side Olympic Lyon who had edged closer to signing the player before an eleventh-hour move by Ten Haag saw the deal turned.
As reported by Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tyrell will become Ten Haag's first signing of the transfer window which is expected to be a busy one for the tactician.
The arrival of the left-back could spell the end of Luke Shaw and Alex Telles who were the established first-choice left-back at the club before Ten Haag's arrival from Ajax.
United are also closing in on Dutch midfielder Frankie De Jong who is highly rated by the current United boss after Champions League exploits with Ajax a few seasons back.
