"Stop The Match" Spurs Plager Reguilon Reveals What He Told The Referee In The First Half

Tottenham Hotspurs faced Newcastle United on Sunday evening at St. James Park Stadium in Newcastle. The game ended 3-2 in favor of Tottenham Hotspurs. Newcastle United were the first to score in the 2nd minute through Wilson. However, Tottenham Hotspurs equalized 15 minutes later through Ndombele before Harry Kane scored the second goal in the 22nd minute. Son Hueng-min them scored the third goal just before the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of first half. Eric Dier scored an own goal in the 89th minute hence the game ended 3-2.

However, something happened in the first half that attracted the attention of many football fans. A Newcastle United fan needed emergency help as he became unconscious on the pitch. Tottenham Hotspurs star Reguilon noticed the that the fan needed an emergency help hence he went to the referee and notified him.

Well, the full back has revealed the exact words that he told the referee. After the match, Reguilon has said that he had the fans shouting 'Stop, stop!' He then decided to go and tell the referee to stop the game. Reguilon told the referee that the game could not continue when someone needed an emergency help.

"I heard the fans say: 'Stop, stop! I saw the fan lying down, and one man [giving him CPR], I was very nervous, I went to the referee and said we cannot play, stop the match."
