Portuguese winger Goncalo Guedes will be joining Premier League side Wolves on a permanent five year deal after Valencia agreed to release him for a deal worth €32 Million. The prolific winger was an integral part of Valencia’s 8th place run in the La Liga last season as well as reaching the finals of the Spanish Cup where they lost narrowly to Real Betis. Bruno Lage holds the winger in high regard and believes that his on-field attributes could help his side scale new heights this season.
The Gunners had been tipped with a move for the 25 year old but the rumors were later ruled out by Fabrizio Romano. The renowned football reporter confirmed that Arsenal had discussed signing the player internally but the club’s board never approved materializing the potential transfer. Earlier reports from other sources had hinted that Goncalo Guedes had been heavily considered for Nicolas Pepe’s position at Arsenal.
Paris Saint Germaine are expected to improve their squad after Fabian Ruiz accepted to join them this summer. The Spaniard midfielder was linked with a number of clubs after Napoli failed to offer a worthwhile offer that would keep him at the club. Since the World Cup is just around the corner, the 25 year old wants to ensure that whichever club he plays for, the chances of getting close to perfect playing minutes is high. The definite fee for his move has not yet been agreed on but it is only a matter of time until all the key details are put to bed.
Mikel Arteta is understood to be a big fan of his compatriot and had even proposed to the club’s board about signing him. At Manchester City, the 38 year old manager had discussed with Pep Guardiola about signing the midfielder but Pep chose to sign Rodri instead since he had more to offer defensively. There is still a slight chance for Arsenal to sign him but it would take more than a miracle for him to accept Arsenal and turn down PSG.
