FC Barcelona Remembers Late Influential Coach

Spanish Football giants FC Barcelona through their Twitter page have mourned Francesc Tito Villanova who succumbed a day like today, seven years ago, on April 25, 2021.

"Seven years without Tito Villanova. Forever in our memory 💙❤️ #Tito Eternal," FC Barcelona wrote.

Tito was a renowned Spanish professional football midfielder who later rose through the heights of success, placing his name in an hitherto of untouched heights in football coaching world.

Tito worked with FC Barcelona as the assistant coach of Pep Guardiola and was part of the squads that won 14 titles.

On April 27, 2012, FC Barcelona announced the departure of Pep Guardiola from the club and articulated that Tito will be his successor. On the 15th day of June the same year, Tito signed a 2-year-contract with the club and steered it to higher heights of success. It is worth that he helped the club win their 22nd domestic championship by a record breaking margin of 15 points, totalling 100 in the process.

On April 25, 2021, Tito Villanova succumbed to complications on Parotid gland cancer.
