Chelsea’s head coach Thomas Tuchel has said that he still believes that Saul Niguez will rediscover his form and contribute immensely to Chelsea’s success this season. This follows after the Spaniard displayed dreadful performances in his first two matches for Chelsea. Tuchel added that his technical team is improvising ways of boosting the player's confidence and form, and soon enough the fans will see the fruits of the new signing.
Saul Niguez is currently on a season-long loan at Chelsea after Atletico Madrid decided to offload him citing a damaged relationship with the player. No obligation was attached to the loan contract, leaving Saul open to other suitor clubs next summer. However, if he impresses Thomas Tuchel this season, then he will most likely be signed and earn a permanent spot in the squad.
Time and again, Frank Lampard has been criticized for dubiously emptying Chelsea’s bank account in buying big players in the transfer market but failing to achieve anything worthwhile with the squad. However, some loyal Chelsea fans have said that the allegations were never the case because thanks to Lampard, Thomas Tuchel now has a wide range of players to choose from.
They further added that it is Lampard's vision in which Thomas Tuchel is currently thriving on and therefore the criticisms directed towards Lampard are not valid. The fans argued that if Lampard had been given more time at Chelsea, then he would have made a huge difference at the club, just as Tuchel has done. Lampard is currently jobless but he has been linked by a number of clubs in Europe that share his vision of developing a young generational squad.
Former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka has said that Chelsea midfielders Ngolo Kante and Jorginho are currently not living up to the nomination of the Ballon d'Or in the new season. Anelka said that the inconsistency of the two players should be a clear message to Chelsea fans that surpassing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the coveted award is nearly impossible, especially by midfielders who don’t score regularly.
