Callum Hudson Odoi the Chelsea's forward has decided to leave England national team to Ghana national team after being dropped from the England's squad for Euro. His father has been convincing him for long now but it has come to work.
The player is currently vacationing in Ghana with his father, who was a great player in the nation's top division of football.
This might come to work out in some tournaments coming because FIFA rules state that Hudson-Odoi would be able to represent Ghana in the future, as he has not played more than three senior matches for England.
The Chelsea youngster has made only 3 appearances for the Three Lions, with the last one coming on November 17, 2019.
All of these appearances came before the age of 21, which is what FIFA requires if you want to switch over.
However, there's a catch to all this - the last appearance made for any other nation would have to be at least 3 years prior to his date of applications his would mean that the earliest Hudson-Odoi can apply to play for the Ghana national team would be November 17, 2022 - just a few days before the World Cup starts!
Should Hudson-Odoi decide to make this switch, he would be following the footsteps of players like Zaha wilfred who chose Ivory Coast over England due to limited chances with the latter.
Come next World cup next year,Callum will be representing his father's country team Ghana for qualifications.
