Man United's Possible 4-1-4-1 Set Up Next Season 3 Signings

According to reports, Manchester United are reportedly eyeing some players in an attempt to sign them as Erik Ten Hag is set for squad rebuild next season.

Some of the players linked to Manchester United include FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, Ajax duo Antony and center back Lisandro Martinez. Deals for these players could be made if offers are made.

If Man United gets these three players, how could they line up next season? Let's look at the possible 4-1-4-1 line up next season with inclusion of these three players;

GOALKEEPING

Dean Henderson is reportedly on his way to Nottingham Forest on a loan term after an agreement between the two teams. This means that David de Gea could still be a starter in the goal post for Man United.

DEFENDING

Alex Telles and Diogo Dalot dominated the starting line up under Ralf Rangnick but their performance was somehow not impressive. This could pave way for Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to start on the left back and right back respectively.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire's petty mistakes last season which costed Man United could risk his place in the starting line up. Raphael Varane is prone to injuries as he has not fully settled and adapted to Old Trafford's life. The possible central defence therefore could pair Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez if Man United signs him.

MIDFIELD

As Donny van de Beek once worked with Erik Ten Hag and knows his tactics very well, he could get a chance in the line up as a defensive midfielder, after coming back from Everton where he was on loan. Meanwhile, Frenkie de Jong and Bruno Fernandes could pair in the central midfield.

FORWARD

Jadon Sancho and Antony could operate from the left wing and right wing respectively as Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo starts as the main striker.

The possible line up and formation looks like the one below;
