Wednesday 26th January Must Win Selections To Stake On And Earn Smartly

This midweek Ligue 1 clash sees two rather poor sides come head-to-head as Angers welcome rock-bottom Saint Etienne. However, Angers come into this on the back of a victory and they look to make that back-to-back wins for the first time since August.

Angers have already beaten the likes of Lyon and Rennes at home this term, so this could prove a difficult place to visit for a Saint Etienne side in freefall. The visitors have failed to score in five of their last six league games and are on a shocking seven-game losing run following their 1-0 loss last time out.

Visiting manager Pascal Dupraz is unbeaten in all of his meetings with Angers (W3, D1), though they all came while managing Toulouse.

Both sides have notable absences due to the ongoing AFCON tournament, Angers will be without the likes of Sofiane Boufal amongst three others still competing.

Meanwhile, Saint Etienne are missing dangerman Wahbi Khazri along with four other players who will not return in time for this clash.

No side scored fewer away goals than Les Verts’ seven this term and as such, it is impossible to side with the visitors, I predict a narrow home win to worsen the crisis in Etienne.

Prediction:Angers to win.

The hosts have scored an average of 1.66 goals while the visitors have scored an average of 1.80 goals.

Prediction:Celtic to win.
