As expected, the hosts were dominant in the match from the first whistle as they tried to break down a Valencia outfit that proved to be a hard knut to crack and the first half ended in a barren draw.
However after immense pressure from Sevilla in the second half, Youssef En Nesyri scored a stunner in the 67th minute which proved to be the only goal of the match as Sevilla earned vital 3 points in their title bid.
After the crucial victory, Sevilla remain rooted at 4th spot in the league with 74 points, only 3 points behind toppers Atletico Madrid with less than 3 fixtures remaining until the end of the campaign. While Valencia dropped to 14th position in the table with 39 points, only 8 point above the dreaded relegation zone.
