On Sunday, President William Ruto was in Qatar to watch the 2022 World Cup finals. It was while in Qatar that the head of state revealed that he had bet with his wife Rachel Ruto and kids on the two finalists.
While Ruto supported France, Rachel Ruto and the kids supported Argentina and the winner was to honor his bet to the other party.
And on Monday morning, Ruto raised eyebrows after his tweet commenting on the outcomes and the bet he is supposed to pay after his France team lost to Argentina in the thrilling penalty shootout.
However, it was Ruto's witty tweet that left Kenyans On Twitter (KOT) questioning whether the informal humorous tweet originated from the doyen himself. The humorous Ruto made fun of the Hustlers' funds, saying he had been denied a loan to pay for his bet since he was not a Hustler.
While employing the use of informal sheng words, Ruto said the wife and the kids had pressured him to honor his bet, asking his friends to help him settle the bet.
He went on to chide his wife asking whether one has to pay for a bet that went extra time and penalties or assume that the game ended in the 90th minute where the scores were 2-2 level up.
Kenyans couldn't keep quiet as they wondered whether someone else was operating Ruto's account or not.
Here are the reactions;
