They were the team in control during the first half creating numerous chances and looking lethal in front of the goal. The team looked sharp in the game but they couldn't find the back of the ney in the first half.
Chelsea had to wait until the security half to take the lead over the Peacocks who have been battling a relegation battle. After just eight minutes into the second half French defender, Wesley Fofana broke the deadlock to give Chelsea a big lead in the game.
The goal saw them ending their winless streak in the Premier League which had stretched up to five league matches. Chelsea boss Graham Potter made several changes in the squad which bared fruit and helped the team take home the three points.
In the game, Mateo Kovacic was amazing after he was playing as an attacking midfielder but he made a huge difference in the game. The Croatia midfielder showed great understanding in midfield with the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix.
The 28-year-old was exceptional today in the team's midfield and he looked to form a good duo with Enzo Fernandez. If he could continue getting more playing time he might end up as one of the best players for the Blues.
