Known for investing heavily on new signings, Liverpool have finally confirmed their first signing of the upcoming January transfer window.The club has agreed on a deal with PSV Eindhoven Dutch winger Cody Gakpo on a deal worth £37 million plus add-ons which could extend the deal a worth of £50 million.
Born in Eindhoven, Netherlands, Cody Gakpo began his football career as a youth with PSV in 2007.He transitioned to Jong PSV as a senior in 2016 and later moved to PSV Eindhoven in 2018.He has a total of 53 senior goals at club in 132 appearances.
He marked his national team debut in 2016 with Netherland youth sides and went on to score 11 goals in 24 appearances before marking his senior national team debut in 2021.With these team, he has managed a total of 14 appearances scoring 6 goals, 3 of which were scored at the recently ended FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
