Manchester United continue their preparation for the new season. They are currently camped in Scotland to try and bond the team together as well as get into the match fitness rhythm before the new season.
However, the United camp has recently been experiencing a stroke of bad luck when it comes to the injury and infection front. As few days ago 9 member soft the first team squad including goalkeeper Dean Henderson test positive for the COVID-19 virus. As a result, they were forced to quarantine for 14 days.
Marcus Rashford has also been injured and required surgery which will keep him out for 12 weeks. Another member of the squad has also suffered an injury setback 10 days before the start of the new season on 14th August.
Anthony Elanga, has been missing from the squad that went to Scotland and it has been confirmed it is due to an injury setback. Elanga who has been promoted to the first team from the reserve has had a wonderful preseason scoring two goal in three games.
He was tipped to take Rashford's position at United as they have a similar playing style. However, it seems like that won't happen now that he is injured. No details of his recovery have been mentioned.
